There's a hole where the face goes

Most novelty wallets print a picture on the outside. This one has the mask pressed into the leather and the face cut out of it, so whatever sits behind becomes the face.

1. Pick a hero

Eight masks, each with its own die, embossed at 1.2–1.5 mm so the edge throws a real shadow across the opening. Each one is drawn to be recognisable using only what sits outside the opening — the brow, the jaw, the crest. Nothing relies on eyes, nose or mouth, because those are holes.

2. Load a face

Six blank cards and an alignment guide come in the box. Print any photo, trim it, slide it in. Your licence works too when it lines up.

3. Hand it over

The card sits right behind the panel. Eyes through the eye slits, mouth in the jaw. Nobody has ever handed one back without commenting.

The bit people ask about

The face opening isn't one hole. It's two eye slits and a separate jaw aperture, divided by a thin bridge of leather across the nose. That bridge is the whole trick — one big face-shaped hole reads as a hole in a wallet, but leave the bridge and the mask reads as sitting on a face.
